All of us have used health products in some way. We use it to cure illness or disease, and sometimes we take health products on a regular basis as a form of preventative medicine. Everyone gets sick, and it is this sad reality of life that sustains the commerce of selling health and wellness products.

Prevention
We dont have to deal with too many sicknesses at a time, or better yet, we dont have to suffer from the worst diseases. Doctors have been telling us to prevent these sicknesses and diseases from burdening our lives in the first place. As the old adage says, prevention is better than cure — and this is done by maintaining a healthy diet, having regular visits to your doctor and in a broad sense, making total health and wellness near the top of your priorities.

What Kind
Sometimes, however, that is easier said than done. Although ideal, not everyone has the tendency to want to be healthy. For some of us who do have that kind of predisposition, sometimes the vitamins and minerals that we are consuming arent enough. Every now and then we do have to use health products in order to keep ourselves healthy.

However, one thing to remember about using health products is to really know what kind of health products you should be buying in the first place. The media might advertise some health product which, for example, could help your child increase his or her appetite, but you cant just go to the grocery to pick that health product up. Ideally, you should first consult a doctor as to what enzymes, supplements or vitamins you need. You will only make matters worse if you buy the wrong supplement, even as you have the best intentions. Even so, using the right health products can definitely give your nutrition and wellness a boost. This is good news for you if you plan to venture into wellness marketing.

Where to Buy and Sell
The industry of health products can be tricky, however. Looking at the supermarket or drugstore, you see a wide variety of health products lined up in the shelves, and it is really hard for one of these products to be noticeable. If you want your health products to sell, you should apply these techniques so that they would be prominent and reach out to more customers.

Marketing
For one, having a website that sells health products has a lot of advantages. For one, the Internet allows your business to run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without taking holidays! Your customers can always go to the website and this means you can make money any time of the day. This is unlike having a usual retail store which is only open for maybe 10 to 12 hours per day. Additionally, if your company is an MLM company, you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to train your prospective down-line in marketing both online and offline. You need to show them that they will need to brand themselves.

You should let your customers know that you are appealing openly to what they want and what they need. When brainstorming for how you should sell your health products, always remember to customize and personalize so that your clients will feel that your services are specifically in tune for their needs.

Your Company and Your Products
It is a must that your website should stand for the company which sells the best health products. Furthermore, you should try the products yourself. If you tried the health products and believed in them, that makes a lot of difference when it comes to your attitude and approach towards selling those products. It makes selling the health products you promote online much easier.

By using your own health products, you are able to customize your website around your personal understanding of the products. That way, your website becomes not only a business, but a truthful testimony to the effectiveness of your products. Customers recognize this genuineness, and that would definitely help boost your sales.

Conclusion
Selling health products this way is the best formula to improve your wellness business. The demand for health products and the need to take them will remain, and knowing that your products helped you obtain good health and wellness only makes you feel good knowing you are helping other people obtain this too. Without a doubt, health products give you the opportunity to have an active online business and promote good health.

The company that I’ve found that makes it easy to promote as they are the premier wellness company in the world, Mannatech. When determining the best natural antioxidants, it is important to consider your own personal wellness history and requirements. There are a variety of ways to include natural antioxidants in your daily routine, either through diet or buying wellness products like oral supplements. In an industry saturated with inexhaustible goods to improve ones health, there are many products and foods rich in antioxidants that contribute to healthfulness in numerous ways. You may already have many of these in your home without realizing it.

What do Antioxidants Do?
Antioxidants are important to slow the effects of aging and also to reduce the risk of serious diseases like cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimers by protecting cells from damaging free radicals. Different antioxidants work together in a sort of network to neutralize free radicals; when an antioxidant attaches itself to a free radical inside your body, it becomes a weak free radical itself. Another antioxidant can regenerate it, which is why having a surplus of antioxidants is important for maintaining health.

Vitamin A
Vitamin A is an important natural antioxidant that is found in foods like apricots, cantaloupe, broccoli, kale, peaches, tomatoes, and carrots, to name a few. In addition to its crucial role in fighting off free radicals, this vitamin is also integral in supporting bodily functions like vision, immune systems, and metabolism. It also contains a number of cartenoids, like beta-carotene.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is another common antioxidant that is found in fruits like oranges, strawberries, and grapefruits, and in leafy vegetables like spinach and cabbage. Many food companies also advertise Vitamin C additions in products like juice or cereal. Most well-known for sustaining a healthy immune system, this vitamin is essential for producing collagen that holds cells together, protecting against the oxidation of lipids, and recharging Vitamin E when it becomes a free radical during the antioxidation process.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E works closely with Vitamin C in the natural antioxidant network, but also protects cells from nerve damage and is recommended for its benefits in Parkinsons disease. It also protects DNA in the cells from harm, and could possibly prevent the formation of cancer cells. Available in green leafy vegetables, nuts, seeds, and whole grains, Vitamin E is even thought to especially reduce a high free radical rate in those who use or are exposed to tobacco smoke.

CoQ10
Coenzyme Q 10, or CoQ10, is an antioxidant that helps to regenerate Vitamin E and maintain a balance within the antioxidant network. Assisting in the fight to prevent lipid oxidation, CoQ10 may help prevent Alzheimers and Parkinsons diseases. Beyond its uses as an antioxidant, it also is responsible for producing functional energy in some of the bodys most active organs like the heart and brain, and has even been used to treat heart patients.

Lipoic acid
Lipoic acid is responsible for recycling all of the network antioxidants. Being able to regenerate itself, it adds a boost to the defense network and is crucial in energy production. Another benefit of lipoic acid is that it has been effective in preventing and controlling diabetes.

Gluthatione
Gluthatione is one of the primary water-soluable natural antioxidants and is produced from amino acids in cells. Because of its ability to recycle the oxidized form of Vitamin C, this antioxidant is critical in maintaining the network balance and also strengthening the immune system. Additionally, it helps to detoxify the blood and protect the lining of the lungs. The best way to boost your gluthatione level is through lipoic acid supplements combined with amino acids.

Selenium
Another nutrient responsible for sustaining the antioxidant network is selenium. It has been proposed that selenium not only improves immune health, but also can prevent cancerous cells as well, acting as an anti-carcinogen. This mineral can be introduced into your regular diet through animal products like meats and eggs, as well as grains.

Conclusion
It is important to consider your own personal health history and lifestyle during the quest to improve your antioxidant intake. Because natural antioxidants work within a cooperative network to rejuvenate one another during the process of free radical neutralization, examining your current diet and supplement ingestion will reveal the required adjustments that need to be made in order to optimize healthy productivity and cell function.

Statistics
Statistics say that over fifteen percent of the United States economy is dedicated to the healthcare industry. That my friends, is roughly $1.5 trillion dollars or one seventh of the economy and growing. Unfortunately, most of those dollars are devoted to what we will call the Sickness Industry. Be that as it may, it is projected that a further $1 trillion dollars of the United States economy will be spent on products and services that have the ability to keep us healthy, slow down the aging process, help us avert diseases from forming altogether, and as well as the obvious, helping us look and feel better. This is known as the Health and Wellness Industry. The emphasis towards a proactive and preventative vision toward wellness will have a sweeping effect from health to food to beauty to medicine.

Timing
Over 100 years ago with the advent of mass production the automobile industry was launched. It developed into a trillion dollar industry. Seventy-four years later IBM launched the personal computer industry. It took a mere ten years for that industry to surpass that of the automobile. In the Health and Wellness industry we have the next trillion dollar industry. Like the others that preceded it, it also will have a similar effect that will revolutionize our lives. If you are positioned correctly, not only will you have the benefits of wellness, but stand to benefit through entrepreneurial and investment opportunities. Think about this, every 8 seconds from now till 2025 there will be someone turning the age of 54.

Demographics
This alarming fact is because of the demographics of the people born between 1944 and 1964. This demographic created a population growth like no other time in history. With that tremendous growth we have an economic influence that goes along with it. It has essentially been what has been driving the economy since that time. That demographic is now entering the age where they are starting to take a much deeper and realistic look into their health and they want to live healthy and substantially longer lives. The baby-boomers have driven markets in the past and it is easily predictable they will do it again with the health and wellness industry. You could be standing in front of the next baby-boomer trend.

Boomers
The boomers understand that in order to watch their grandchildren grow up and witness their great grandchildren being born that it is essential that they take care of themselves like no other generation that preceded them, and they also be cognizant that science is much more effective and advanced now that it was in the past. They realize that health and wellness is attainable for them, and they want a part of it.

Opportunity
As we can see there is a tremendous financial opportunity before us. But I would be remiss if I didnt also discuss the impact the industry will have on our longevity. According to the U.S. Census Bureau our life expectancies are now at 77.5 (2006 figures) and are expected to grow to the mid-80s by 2050. However, if the recent increases in the rates of lifestyle diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and heart disease, may drastically slow or reverse this upward trend in increasing life expectancies in the United States.

Longevity
The mindset of Health and Wellness vs the Sickness Industry approach is being uncovered with new research from many Universities and private corporations. Along with some of the old world medicine and practices it is being discovered that with the new understanding and new natural products stemming from new technologies and the further understanding provided in genetic research from the Human Gnome Project that we will indeed be able to extend our lives. The optimal condition to achieve this is the Health and Wellness route. Health and wellness emphasizes preventative care through natural means using diet, exercise, and social means. This is counter to the pharmaceutical and medical communities who historically only after discovering a medical condition prescribes a drug to counter the condition instead of attacking the underlying problem. Many times the drug has undesirable side effects that are worse than the problem that was trying to cure in the first place. There is a new wave of doctors and research that are favoring a more natural approach to prevention. Regardless, there will always be drugs to help with the symptoms and with the use of diet, exercise, supplements, and education we need to find the right balance between the two.

Traditional Businesses
Next we will discuss the ways to capitalize financially the health and wellness industry. Like any industry we will always have a brick and mortar model. These will usually exist in the form of fitness gyms, diet centers, health food stores, and massage and spa businesses. These businesses exist today but for the average person to start a new business in any of these arenas requires a large amount of capital to get started. Most of these businesses today are franchises. Along with brick and mortar comes having to manage the businesses, facilities, employees, and compliance regulations such as taxes, benefits, licenses, etc. Another way you could capitalize is to invest in the companies that offer stock. Like any investment you do need to do your due diligence before you make any decision.

Internet Businesses
Additionally, my favorite way, is there are many MLM companies that either are solely based on offering health and wellness products in supplements and products, and companies that have health and wellness products as part of their product offerings. An MLM offers you freedom. You can choose the opportunity or company you want. You can choose to work where ever, how ever long your want, when ever you want. You can travel and virtually live anywhere you want. It gives you freedom to spend more time with your family. Many Multi Level Marketing companies get a bad rap because most people simply do not put in the effort that is required to succeed in them. This for the most part is due to a lack of training by their sponsors or upline. MLM marketing has entered the new century and is poised to produce a huge segment of the Health and Wellness Industry. No longer is it necessary to make a list of family and friends. Through the use of Web 2.0 technologies like Blogs, Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter, with the right training and effort, it is possible to start finding and recruiting team members, distributors, and leaders into your business.

Leveraging Resources
By using the power of the internet to leverage your time it is possible to capitalize without having to nearly have an initial layout of capital mentioned above in the brick and mortar model. But by no means is it easy. If you hear that it is, run away. You have to educate yourself on many aspects of internet marketing and there are many factors that will contribute to your success. To be honest, over 90 percent of all people fail to create profit on the internet. Most of this is from lack of action due to lack of marketing skills. If you do start a business using MLM, make sure you join someone who has a track record. Make sure you have a time commitment to get it to work. Find someone who has a team of professionals, someone who provides training, and someone who will help you establish your business. If you have an action attitude, have done your due diligence, have found someone who can train and educate you and get your business launched, there should be no reason that you cant capitalize in the Health and Wellness Industry. To find out more about the health business I choose to spend and invest my time with, Mannatech, click the BUSINESS tab on the menu.

Even without the many studies by scientists everywhere I could have told you that the sun is indeed a great thing. Some of you know one of the things I enjoy the most is the outdoors. Being outdoors, many times at dawn, I am witness to many animals and birds starting their days. The birds start chirping and chasing each other, the squirrels start hoping around, and the rest of the animals start their daily ritual. If your like me, and have been “stuck in side your four walls”, other Paul McCartney lyrics with the Wings, you really do miss a lot of time to get outdoors. You need to take time and get outside and excape your cubicle walls, especially in the winter to get your needed dose of vitamin D. Don’t believe me? Look at the study here.

The best-known benefit of sunlight is its ability to boost the bodys vitamin D supply; most cases of vitamin D deficiency are due to lack of outdoor sun exposure. At least 1,000 different genes governing virtually every tissue in the body are now thought to be regulated by 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25[OH]D), the active form of the vitamin, including several involved in calcium metabolism and neuromuscular and immune system functioning.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2290997/

Not only is it great to get out and get some fresh air but the sun helps you more than you will know. Go on, get outside and go for a walk in the sun. It will help reduce the stress in your life.

So today I’m writing about “Getting Away”. I love getting away. In fact, shh dont tell anyone, but I still sneak out to go on country drives on small county roads close to my house, all by myself. I get to go slow and enjoy the nature. It usually about a twenty mile drive. You see, Im literally only one minute from being out in the country. Also, Im only 5 minutes away from a state park where I can walk down to a cool waterfall. Thats what I enjoy doing to relax.

Now I know there are many people who plan on relaxing. They work their butts off for fifty weeks a year and think the two weeks will replenish them. Many also work themselves into stressful situations planning for those two weeks. Planning is a good thing, especially if you do it early enough, but last minute planning creates stress. If you do create a checklist well enough in advance, you can manage to take a task at a time and complete it. If you do start feeling stress working on the tasks or if you did wait till the last minute, take a break. Get away. Close your eyes. Take a big breath. Take a relaxing drive or a walk in the park. If you put it in perspective, youll wonder why you were in a stressful situation to begin with. Remember, most stress is brought on by yourself and is based on a premise that something will occur that is unpleasant. Nine times out of ten, it wont occur. Why? You planned.

The first thing that comes to mind with ways to minimize stress is exercise, plain and simple. So the number one excuse is time. So whats the best way.
The first thing that comes to mind with ways to minimize stress is exercise, plain and simple. So the number one excuse is time. So whats the best way. Well I’ve been doing some research on someone named Tabata. Dr. Izumi Tabata is a former researcher at Japan’s National Institute of Fitness and Sports. In a study he found that someone training in HIT (High Intensity Training) vs some LIT (Low Intensity Training) that the time it took for the HIT to achieve more benefits than the LIT subjects was a factor of 72 to 1. That is not a typo. This was preformed over 8 days. This found that 8 days of HIT lasting only 280 seconds elevated both GLUT-4 and the maximal glucose transport activity to that of the people preforming the LIT.

A HIT cycle consists of doing high intensity exercise for 20 seconds and resting 10 then repeating it. The workouts I’m now doing last 6 simple minutes. If that type of exercise isn’t for you, going hiking, or rowing, palates, and yoga can also accomplish the same thing, but will require much much more time. I plan on alternating between the two on off days and resting on Sunday.

So as the new year is coming, if you want to learn more about Tabita training check out http://www.squidoo.com/tabatatraining. I’ve been an advocate of using Kettlebell training and Tabita Training fits hand and glove with Kettlebells. You can find out more about Kettlebell training at www.DragonDoor.com. Remember, it will reduce stress in your life and give you much more energy!

Till next time.

Today, I’m talking about saying, NO. I remember an old movie back in the 70′s called “Silent Movie“. It was made in 1976 by Mel Brooks. It was a silent movie except there was one spoken word in the whole movie by of all people Marcel Marceau. He said “NO!”.

I’m saying this because for some reason we are almost conditioned to always say yes, OK, or ya. After all, you want to go along to get along. You don’t want to appear inferior, do you. So when someone asks you if you can do something, the obvious response is typically, OK. You can always find a way to squeeze it into your schedule somehow, right? Well you may be a superman or superwomen but squeezing too many things into your schedule becomes downright stressful.

You need to learn to say NO. You need to simply say you don’t have the capacity to take on an extra chore. You need to prioritize each of the things you are asked to do, sometimes self imposed as well, and ask yourself if there are more important things to do. So when declining an offer you need to make sure you are firm. If necessary, let the person making the request know that you cant fit it into your schedule. If you start to feel guilty, offer to do something else or to take on the task later in the week once your week is a little less hectic.

It is plain and simple. Do what’s important for you. Remember, some of the small items you do have, See “Git Er Done Stopping Stress Your Life“, you should knock off right away. Then by not committing to things that directly benefit you, things should start being less stressful. Tomorrow, I’ll talk about number 3, exercising.

Im going through a list of things that will help make your life less stressful. By New Years Evening you should be prepared to have a much more relaxed and successful 2010. So lets get started. By New Years Evening you should be prepared to have a much more relaxed and successful 2010. So lets get started. You know the old cartoons that depict good and evil standing on your shoulder having a conversation with your conscience? I have a third entity that hides behind my head and coaches one of those. He is known as Mr. Procrastinator. You can only guess which one he is helping. He is making sure that you can find all 101 reasons not to finish something you start. Yes Mr. Procrastination is robbing you of your sense of accomplishment, your success, and giving you lots of unneeded stress!

The number one best way to rid yourself of stress is to get things done. Have Mr. Accomplishment battling Mr. Procrastinator. Any tasks you have to do typically can be broken down into smaller sub-tasks. Then just do them, one after another. It is usually harder just thinking about tackling your task list than it is to actually just start doing it. What works for me is using index cards to create the lists. Once they are written down, this will free up much of the mental space required and you can concentrate at the task at hand.

What you will really get out of it, is a lot more done, a sense of accomplishment, and a LOT less stress. Tomorrow, Ill tackle number 2.

Have a great stress free Holiday!

I remember as a kid it wasnt until I was 10 or so before I ate my first green pepper. Not that I remember much when I was ten but remembering the food I ate and figuring out why I ate it would be asking to much. I had added some green peppers into my taco. They were different but tasty. But later I graduated from bell peppers when I discovered there is a whole world of peppers out there. I especially like hot peppers, to the shagrin of my wife.

Did you know there are health benefits with eating hot peppers. The greatest benefit, and the best is that hot peppers boast a hefty dose of capsaicin, which is a compound that can curtail the symptoms of migraine headaches, arthritis, inflammation, gastric ailments, reduce the risk of cancer, and finally to serve as a thermogenic agent. Thermogenic agents aid in speeding up metabolic activity.

The capsaicin in hot peppers has been shown to decrease blood cholesterol and triglycerides, boost immunity, and reduce the risk of stomach ulcers. It used to be thought that hot peppers aggravated ulcers. Instead, they may help kill bacteria in the stomach that can lead to ulcers.

Additionally, hot peppers are very high in antioxidant carotenes and flavonoids. They even contain about twice the amount of vitamin C as an orange. But because of their intense flavor, peppers are best used to spice food that otherwise could become boring. So I throw them in my soups, stews, chili dishes, stir fries, salads and salsas. Thats basically just about everything I eat.

There certainly are many various strengths of hotness found in hot peppers, (no jalapenos are not the hottest), and the right one for you has to be discovered through experimentation. They are fun to grow as well. I regularity get about a dozen varieties from my garden yearly and enough to dice and freeze and have year around.

Enjoy!
